|
Want to set up this free Event?
|
Here are the steps! (There's very little you have to do)
1) Coordinate a date and time for the event with Bob Mel. Bob will ask for approval from Health Net via email conformation and if approved, will confirm the date with you. 2) You will receive posters. As soon as possible, start promoting: get those who wish to sing signed up.
(solos/ duets/ trios and groups are urged to sing)
Get those who will cheer along attending the event too; the more the better! 3) The day of the event (about an hour and a half before it starts) Bob Mel will bring and set up:
A) A great sounding sound system (they're Going to sound great!)B) A Karaoke machine, projector and screen. C) Karaoke discs with a list of songs to choose from. These are the songs with words on the screen; we'll have many more songs without words on the screen if the contestants know the words. Also if they have their own discs they are encouraged to bring them.D) Really, everything needed for a great show! 4) Bob Mel will host the event and get the talent showcase started by singing a song or two. 5) We'll pass out song lists and get the seniors to choose a song to sing (or two). 6) Voting will be done by ballots at your center. 7) Up to two acts will move on to the regional. 8) Regional finals will be held and finalists will be video taped. Final voting will be done on "You Tube". Here's an example of a You Tube video below of The Weavers- singing as senior citizens.
(Then watch a Bob Mel sing-a-long before karaoke video-1986)
9) Championship competition will be held on December 16, 2009 at The Miller Library (Senior Center) in Hamden, on the big stage.
10) It's never too late to be famous!

Before Karaoke there was The Bob Mel Show! The You Tube video below was filmed in 1986; years before modern karaoke machines. That's Sam & Janet, two of the many people who would join in the fun at The Bob Mel Show. They're a good example of the mild and bold!
